When I chat with teachers at my new school, some think I’m a newly posted COS teacher. Others get surprised when I tell them I’ve actually spent 10 years teaching in pedalaman. Some even look at me with pity, thinking I’ve been applying eGTukar for years but never got it.
But the truth is, throughout those 10 years in Nabawan, I never applied for eGTukar even once. I was genuinely happy there. I loved the environment, the people, the students, and the simple life in pedalaman.
Only last year did I finally apply for the first time, and Alhamdulillah, rezeki terus dapat. I felt like my journey in Nabawan had come full circle and it was time to experience a new place, new challenges, and learn new things.
Huge thank you to SK Pementerian, my amazing colleagues, students, supportive parents π«Άπ» PPD Pensiangan, and all the staff of Perpustakaan Kg. Pamuntarian for all the meaningful memories, programs, and experiences we shared together.
People always say your first posting will always have a special place in your heart, and now I truly understand why.
My hope for any new teacher who posted in pedalaman school is that you give yourself time to truly experience it before wishing to leave. The challenges are real, but so are the memories, friendships, and lessons that will stay with you forever. Someday, you’ll look back and realize how meaningful that journey actually was.
May Nabawan Pensiangan keep on onsoi! ππ»
